Hmm
Anyone else wondering what’s going on in Vietnam right now? I understood the holiday breaks and the associated decline in I600 approvals, but CIS and the Embassy have been back to work for two weeks now and approvals are not speeding up. I’m fairly bright, but I’m not getting this (unless what’s going on is that CIS and/or the Embassy intend to basically shut down adoptions before the MOU expires). If you’re aware of families in Vietnam right now for G&R’s, would you mind dropping me a line?

I am also wondering about this whole process. There are 2 families from my agency that had their giving and receiving ceremonies recently and are still there. I haven’t heard of many approvals lately. We have been waiting around 60 “calendar” days.
My agency just had about 6 families travel. Two more left a few days ago. As someone waiting for a referral, I would really like to know what is going on…
I’m confused – what else is new, lol? I know my agency had 3 I-600 approvals recently. I know of one family that left last week of February. I assume that this means they won’t have any problem once in country – or have you heard differently?
At this point, I’m so cynical, I wouldn’t be surprised if your theory were true.
I’ve heard of two families getting their approvals through, one last night, one the night before.
tangentgirl, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point, I celebrate everyone’s approval, lol. At least things are moving. Slowly, but moving.
I just read of someone getting theirs in 9 days. I don’t get it.
I read about one today that was approved in 25 days. But three approved I600s this week for families using the same agency as me. Pretty cool, looks like we have some movement again… keep them coming!
there are a couple of families currently in Vietnam getting there little ones. From what I’ve heard, things are moving a bit slowly now, but aren’t shutting down.
There are 4 families that have recently gotten their approvals and they are all from Southern Vietnam–a few only waited 15 days and one had a confirmation date of January 23rd. There was also one from Hanoi a few weeks ago.
There are several of us with babies in the north that have been waiting 70, 80, even 100 days. This is interesting and I wish I knew what was going on.
Melissa, my son is in the north too, although my I600 hasn’t been logged in yet (any day now!) – but I know other families with my agency who also have children in the north. It does make you wonder if they’re just not getting to the north and investigating the southern adoptions simply because of travel proximity?
