Our government at work

So, I thought it might be helpful to have a member of Congress inquire into my I600 case.  Not so much.  All they did was send an email to Hanoi and HCMC asking what the status of my case was and then when they got the form letter from the Embassy saying that they don’t give updates and, by the way, we’re just doing this to help the orphans, they called the inquiry complete.  When I asked if they would actually try to contact someone personally, they said, “but, the letter says that they don’t give updates”.  I know there are a lot of proactive staffers on the Hill and in regional offices.  Do they just not work in the offices of Senators Grassley, Harkin, Boxer and Feinstein?
