Mommy’s new toy

A new camera lens.  Figured if I’m going to force you to look at my amateur attempts at photographing my son, I’d at least try to make the photos viewable.  I think it’s going to take a while, but I can already see a bit of a difference just from not using the flash.  I promise, it’ll get better.

Maybe someday he’ll actually settle down and smile at the camera.

  1. With a subject that beautiful you do not need to be a good photographer. :)

  2. What lens did you get? I think my 18 month old has a similar obsession for looking away from the camera the moment I get it out and she’s doing something cute.

  3. Nora, I got a 50mm 1.4. Horrible for active shots, of course, which begs the question of why on earth I would buy this particular lens with a kid this active. Love the “blurring” and the crispness of the shots when (if) he settles down.

  4. I think they look darn good! I’ve been getting so frustrated with our camera and will need to upgrade before a kiddo comes home!

  6. Just out of curiosity…what kind of camera do you have? My little guy moves so fast so I think I will be looking at an SLR at some point, but I’m just gathering input (because mama needs to make some $$$ before that day comes).
