I found your blog from SPD connect - I was interested if you had any other tricks for my little guy. We also learned of the pass for our trip to Disney World - it is worth its weight gold!! (especially when he wanted to go on the Test Track and my others didn't) They also told me the pass can be used for rides the "special needs" guest doesn't want to go on but the rest of the family does. Honestly, my husband and I did not want to abuse the card and really thought could we stand in this line - before using the card. The one thing I wished I brought was his noise canceling head phones. (Peltor Kid's Earmuff / hearing protector) The park staff was great in providing us with several packages of foam ear plugs - but they just didn't stay in and I ended up holding the plugs in his ears. They are the first thing to get packed next time. Thanks for your great tips!

We use the special needs card for our now 6 year old with SPD it was a life saver, we found out about it from another guest who I was talking to while we were letting him calm down and run around in the "soft" playground at disneyworld by the Winnie pooh ride. It was a great help and we never got questioned by the staff, and if and when we were questioned by other guest we simply explained it to them.
We also stay on site and that was a huge help, anyone who goes might want to bring headphone or earplugs to help with the louder noise I forgot our ones we got a car race for him but I had this therapeutic music and head phones and he wore those.
The playgrounds are a great place as well.
In Disneyworld you have a bunch to pick from. Magic kingdom has three playground areas for them to play at. Across from the Winnie Pooh ride, Toon Town has one and there is one under the bridge of Splash Mountain.
Epcot Mission space You have to walk in and go by where the ride lets guest out, it has tunnels and it's dark and cool it took us forever to get our boys out.
Animal Kingdom has the Boneyard where they can play and dig in sand and slide. It was great
Hollywood has Honey I Shrunk the Kid's movie set which is a Huge play area with slides and they do have some water which the kids can play in. Climbing and exploring.
Downtown Disney has the restaurant T-REX®, A Prehistoric Family Adventure
you don't have to eat there but they do have a sand digging area and they allow your kids to dig and dig, it's great. As long as your child doesn't mind playing with sand. It took our son a bit but after a bit he loved it.

You can also ask if you stay at the resorts if they have a playground and request to stay by one. We are Disney Vacation Club members and we always request to be by a playground.
