About
I am the single mother to an adorable little boy named Oscar (for purposes of this blog only, sadly) who happened to be born in Vietnam and a beautiful little girl named Etta, born in Ethiopia. I’m happy to have you join me for a few of our adventures.

I am so glad that I found your blog on posh mama. Take care.
Pamela
I am so impressed that you went through with the adoption, that it’s going so well and that you are planning on adopting another child! I look forward to hearing more about that!
I sure enjoy your blog. It is happy & bold…fun to read. Oscar is a cutie. I also am an adoptive mom…to 2 siblings from Russia who had never met until we adopted them. It has been a wild ride, but a great ride.
Thanks for sharing your story.

Greetings from a fellow single, older adoptive mom! My Adam is two and a half and has been home just over a year. I’m enjoying catching up on your blog.
I am a single perspective mom and will be traveling to Russia Sat. for my first visit. Wondered if you had any words of wisdom? I am older as well
I am looking for your email b/c I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. guateangel at msn dot com
Hey there,
I’m a single mom, too. I just got home with my son from Guatemala a few months ago. I also am thinking about adopting again and was also thinking about Ethiopia. I may not start for another year. Is Vietnam closed to singles now? I need to get back in the game and get caught up on the latest laws. Looking forward to staying in touch.

Michelle,
I’ve been reading your blog only recently, but came across your post about seeing a ped opt. We are seeing a ped opt. for my daughter for the reverse reason: brain disorder/seizures which may manifest themselves into eye problems. You are right – the dissatisfaction with the medical community mounts quickly. Take care – I’ll be thinking about you and Oscar.
Nora, that must be terrifying for you (and of course your dauther)! I hope the doctors are able to take care of your daughter’s medical issues very soon.
You won my blog contest! Email me at bethbasilio@hotmail.com with your mailing address so I can send you your prize.
Hi,
My name is Agnes I’m a graduate student at NYU in the public relations program. I’m writing a paper on the reputation of Vietnamese orphanages and need to obtain research on the subject. I came across your blog and was hoping you can complete a 5 question survey about your adoption experience.

I appreciate your help and time. Please let me know if I need to clarify any of the questions in the survey. Thank you in advance.

Hi! I would love to talk to you about the FACE Act. Could you e-mail me your contact info? I have followed your blog off and on since Oscar came home. I love it!

Love to follow your journey for your adoption to Ethiopia.
I too am a single women, in the adoption loop. Nicaragua vs Nepal.
How cool! I’ve never met anyone who has adopted (or was in the process of adopting) from Nicaragua. Do you have a blog? I’d love to hear more about the process. Nanny Norma is Nicaraguan with family still there, so we’ve discussed the possibility of my adopting there. I was just apprehensive with it not being a well developed process where I could glean info from other APs easily. Best of luck to you!
While addressing her district, she said tearfully that nobody should have to put up with the behind-the-back comments she took. ,
I have been following your blog for about a year now – maybe through Habesha Child (can’t remember now). I adopted my daughter domestically in January – she’s 10 months old now and I am having some maybe I should start for number 2 thoughts now. Following closely to see how it goes for you!

PS – I love the night night video – caught a snippet of his name – be careful if you are still concerned about that!
Love love LOVE your blog. I was on the waitlist for VN when they shut down but adopted my beautiful daughter from Ethiopia last year. My agency is no longer accepting singles – would you share some info on who you’re using? I’m already thinking about a sibling too! Congrats on your waitlist spot this week – enjoy all that exciting anticipation!
Hi!
I would like to talk to you about an article I wrote that, being a parent, I think you would enjoy (on early childhood education). I’d love it if you could drop me an email quick so I can give you more details if you’re interested or if you were interested in new content for your blog.
